Q: How can I access and download the Mozzaz Care app?

A: Simply visit the app store on your device to download the app. We currently support iOS and Windows operating systems, and we will be supporting Android in the future.

Q: How can I access the Portal?

A: The Portal can be accessed through the Google Chrome web browser at www.mozzazcare.com. While the Portal can be accessed using other web browsers, users may experience irregular behavior.

 

Q: Do I need to be connected to the internet when I use TalkingTiles or Mozzaz Care app?

A: Both apps are designed to be run without a network connection, but many Edit Mode functionalities such as syncing, uploading & downloading, and creating new Text To Speech strings require an internet connection.
Any data collected while the app does not have a network connection is stored and can be synced whenever an internet connection becomes available.

Q: Do I need a separate license for each device I use the app on?

A: Your Mozzaz Subscription is for your account, and access to our cloud services. You can use your account across as many devices as you wish!

Q: Is there a cost to download TalkingTiles and Mozzaz Care?

A: No, our apps are free to download. In order to continue using Mozzaz Care or TalkingTiles beyond the trial period, you will need to pay for an Account subscription.


Q: How do I subscribe to Mozzaz Care?

A: From the Portal, navigate to Settings and click your Subscriptions tab. This will show you your current subscription type, as well as the other subscription options.

If you have a trial account, you will see a banner at the bottom of the screen with an Upgrade button that will take you to the subscription screen.


Q: Is there a cost to adding a Care Team member to my account?

A: There is no cost to you for adding a Care Team member to your account, and you can have as many Care Team members as you wish.

Navigating the Mozzaz Care App


To use the various functions and features of the Mozzaz Care App you will need to be able to navigate through the app. In this tutorial you will learn how to access the different areas of Mozzaz Care so that you can access the full functionality of this powerful tool.



How to Navigate the Mozzaz Care App

Switching Between the Caregiver and Care Recipient Modes

  • From the Caregiver Mode tap on silhouette , then tap switch to care then confirm button .

  • To switch from Care Recipient to Caregiver you must restart the Mozzaz Care App.

 

Switching Between Edit and Run Mode (Caregiver Only)

The run mode or edit mode icon in the bottom left corner of the screen indicate whether you are in the Run or Edit modes. Tap the icon to switch between modes.

 

Caregiver Mode - Navigate to Tiles, Schedule, Home or Portal

Next to the Run or Edit Mode icon are four other navigation icons.

  • tiles icon will switch from Schedule to Tiles.

  • schedule icon will switch from Tiles to Schedule.

  • home icon will open the App Home Page in Tiles.

  • portal icon will open the Portal in your device's default browser.

 

Care Recipient Mode - Switching Between Tiles and Schedule

  • A Care Recipient can change from Tile to Schedules by tapping on menu schedule .

  • A Care Recipient can change from Schedules to Tile by tapping on tiles return .

Managing Care Teams


Members of your Care Team can help you develop content and access reports on the use of the Mozzaz Care app. You can add anyone with a Mozzaz account to your Care Team, or you can request inclusion in another user's Care Team.



How to Manage Care Teams

How to Invite a New Care Team Member (Caregiver Account)

  1. Login to the Mozzaz Care Portal .

  2. Press care team .

  3. Press invite new member .

  4. Enter the email address or Mozzaz username of the individual you would like to invite to your Care Team, then press send invite .

  5. Note: The invitee will receive an email inviting them to the Care Team. They can confirm and join the Care Team by following a link in the email.

 

How to Request Inclusion in a Care Team (Professional Account)

  1. Login to the Mozzaz Care Portal .

  2. Press care recipients .

  3. Press join care team .

  4. Enter the email address or Mozzaz username of the individual whose Care Team you would like to join, then press send invite .

  5. Note: The individual will receive an email asking for permission to join the Care Team. They can confirm and accept you into their Care Team by following a link in the email.

Create a New Activity


With the Mozzaz Care App you can schedule activities for the user, including visual components, observation forms, and automated reminders inside or out of the app.



How to Create a New Activity

  1. Login to the Mozzaz Care Portal .

  2. Press schedule .

  3. Press add activity .

  4. Enter a name and (optionally) description for the activity.

  5. Press choose file to select an image to use as an icon for the activity. (Optional)

  6. Uncheck indefinite period and set a Start and End Date for the activity. (Optional)

  7. Set a Start Time for the activity.

  8. Set the Occurance to Daily or Weekly.

    • A Daily activity will create a notification at the Start Time every day of the week.

    • A Weekly activity will create notifications at the Start Time only on the selected days of the week.

  9. Press continue .

  10. Press add new step .

  11. Press select any page and select a page for the step.

  12. Enter a name and description for the step.

  13. Optionally, you can add observations to the step.

    • To use an existing observation form with this step, press load existing observation and choose the form you'd like to use.

    • To create new questions, press add new question . See Create a New Observation Form for details on creating new observation questions.

  14. Repeat steps 10 - 13 for every step of the activity.

  15. Press save and close .

Create a New Observation Form


Any of the written forms that you use in your practice can be translated to virtual forms with Mozzaz Care. Cut down on paperwork and data entry, freeing time for more productive tasks.



How to Create a New Observation Form

  1. Login to the Mozzaz Care Portal .

  2. Press observation forms .

  3. Press new observation form .

  4. If you would like to base your new observation form on an existing form, press load existing .

  5. Enter a name and (optionally) description for the form.

  6. Press add new question .

  7. Choose a question type from the dropdown menu.

    • Multiple Choice - Multiple Answer : User can select multiple answers from a list.

    • Rating Slider : User can slide a toggle to indicate performance.

    • Multiple Choice - Single Answer : User can select a single answer from a list.

    • Text Area : User can enter free-form text in a field.

    • Yes/No : User can select "Yes" or "No".

    • Read-Only Field : Instructional text for the user.

     

  8. Enter a title for the question and fill in the answer choices (if applicable).

  9. Press save question to save the question.

  10. Repeat steps 6-9 for every question you would like to include on the form.

  11. Press save and close to complete the form.

Re-arrange the Tiles on a Page


Sometimes it's necessary to re-arrange the order of the tiles on the page to make them more intelligible or otherwise easier for the user to work with.



Re-arranging the Tiles on a Page

Preparation

  1. Start in the Edit Mode, on the page that you are going to edit. (See the Navigation Tutorial for details.)

  2. Hold down on the tile that you want to move. After a couple of seconds the tile will be highlighted and you will see these new options at the top of the screen: tile select options

Cut and Paste the Tile

  1. Tap cut .

  2. Tap the tile that you'd like to paste over. Please note: the tile will be overwritten and its previous contents will be lost.

Copy and Paste the Tile

  1. Tap copy .

  2. Tap the tile that you'd like to paste over. Please note: the tile will be overwritten and its previous contents will be lost.

Swap Tiles

  1. Tap swap .

  2. Tap the tile that you'd like to swap with. The tiles will switch positions.

Delete a Tile

Tap delete to delete the tile.

  • You can delete multiple tiles by tapping on additional tiles to select them before pressing "Delete".

Deselect the Tile

Tap clear to clear your tile selection.

Change the Tile Action


You can change the action of any tile on any page. There are many different tile actions available, detailed below. Update the tile actions as frequently as you need to in order to meet your user's changing needs.



How to Change the Tile Action

Preparation

  1. Start in the Edit Mode, on the page with the tile that you are going to edit. (See the Navigation Tutorial for details.)

  2. Tap on the tile you want to change to open it in the Edit Tile dialogue.

  3. Tap on tile action tab to view the available tile actions.

None (No Action)

  • This is selected for all new tiles by default.

  • If you want to turn off the Tile Action for a tile, tap no action .

Observation

When someone presses a tile with the "Observation" Tile Action, the selected observation form will open in a pop-up window.

  1. Press observation sync to sync observations from your account to the device.

  2. Press observation to display the available observations.

  3. Tap one of the available observation forms to select it.

  4. To complete the changes press "Save and Close".

Image

When someone presses a tile with the "Image" Tile Action, the selected image will open in a pop-up window.

  1. Press image to display the available pop-up images.

  2. Tap one of the available images to select it.

  3. To complete the change press "Save and Close".

Tiles Page

When someone presses a tile with the "Tiles Page" Tile Action, the linked page will be opened.

  1. Press tiles page to display the available pages to link (pages saved to the device).

  2. Tap on one of the pages to select it.

  3. To complete the change press "Save and Close".

Video

When someone presses a tile with the "Video" Tile Action, a video will be opened in a pop-up viewer.

  1. Press video action to display the available videos.

  2. Tap on one of the videos to select it.

  3. To complete the change press "Save and Close".

App Action

There are nine possible App Actions that can be associated with a tile. When someone presses a tile with an App Action, the selected action will occur.

  • Back Page opens the previous page.

  • Clear Speech Bar clears all of the tiles from the Speech Bar.

  • Delete Last Word In Speech Bar clears only the last tile from the Speech Bar.

  • Next Screen changes the page display to the next screen.

  • Previous Screen changes the page display to the previous screen.

  • Select Page opens the "Select A Page" dialogue.

  • Speak All plays the Tile Audio for all of the tiles in the Speech Bar in order.

  • Start Page opens the Care Recipient Start Page.

  • Navigate to Schedules opens Schedules.

To choose an app action:

  1. Press app action to display the available App Actions.

  2. Tap on one of the App Actions to select it.

  3. To complete the change press "Save and Close".

  1. Press website .

  2. Enter the website address (url).

  3. To complete the change press "Save and Close".

Change the Tile Audio


You can change the audio of any tile on any page, including pages downloaded from the ready-made libraries. Update tiles as frequently as you need to in order to meet your user's changing needs.



How to Change the Tile Audio

Preparation

  1. Start in the Edit Mode, on the page with the tile that you are going to edit. (See the Navigation Tutorial for details.)

  2. Tap on the tile you want to change to open it in the Edit Tile dialogue.

Text-to-Speech

To use a text-to-speech engine to generate the Tile Audio based on typed words, follow the steps below.

  1. If it isn't already highlighted, press tts icon to choose Text-to-Speech.

  2. Next, indicate what text you would like the Text-to-Speech engine to read.

    • If you want the tts to read out the Display Text for the tile, just check checkmark "Use Display Text".

    • If you want the tts to read something other than the Display Text for the tile, uncheck uncheck "Use Display Text" and type the text you would like read in the "Speech text" field speech text .

  3. Now you can choose the voice options for the tile. You can choose from one of four TTS engines: Device TTS, Google TTS, iSpeech TTS, and Acapela TTS.

    (Note: If you are setting up the TTS for a new tile then the voice options set up in "Tile Settings" will be used by default and you can skip the following steps to use that voice. See Set Your Default TTS for details.)

    • If you choose the Device TTS engine you then the tile will use whatever TTS engine is installed as the default on your device. There are no further options to choose from.

    • The Google TTS engine gives you the further option of choosing a language from: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Hatian Creole.

    • The iSpeech engine gives you the option of choosing language (43 options), bitrate (sound quality), speed, and frequency.

    • The Acapela engine give you the option of choosing language (32 options), voice (multiple voices for each language), and speed.

  4. To complete the changes press "Save and Close".

Record

To record your own voice for the Tile Audio, follow the steps below.

  1. If it isn't already highlighted, press record to choose Record.

  2. Press start button to start recording.

  3. MCA will begin recording. When you are done speaking, press stop button to finish recording.

  4. If you would like to preview the recording, press play preview .

  5. To complete the changes press "Save and Close".

No Audio

To turn off audio for the tile, press no audio . To complete the change press "Save and Close".

Change the Appearance of a Tile


You can change the appearance of any tile on any page. Update tiles as frequently as you need to in order to meet your user's changing needs.



How to Change the Appearance of a Tile

  1. Start in the Edit Mode, on the page with the tile that you are going to edit. (See the Navigation Tutorial for details.)

  2. Tap on the tile you want to change to open it in the Edit Tile dialogue.

  3. Tap on the "change image" button to choose a new image for the tile.

    • You can select an image from one of three sources.

      • Tap image select1 to use the camera on your device to take a picture from within the Mozzaz Care App.

      • Tap image select2 to choose an image that has already been saved to your device. You can choose a picture you took previously or an image you've downloaded from the internet.

      • Tap image select3 to choose an icon from one of six different professional symbol sets.

    • To retrieve an image from one of the symbol sets:

      • Choose one of the sets by tapping on the folder.

      • Find an image, either by browsing though the images or by searching for an image with the search bar.

      • Select an image by tapping on it.

       

  4. To change the display text of the tile, just tap on the Display Text field and replace the text with whatever text you'd like the tile to display.

  5. To complete the changes press "Save and Close".

Note: A tile needs either an image or display text, but not both. If you only want one of these elements for a tile, you can simply omit the element that you don't want. If you need only images or display text for all of the tiles on a page see the Page Appearance Tutorial.

Download Pages from the Cloud


Expand the capabilities of the Mozzaz Care App on your device by downloading pages from the cloud. You can download pages that you've previously created on the same or another device, or you can download ready-made pages from one of the page libraries.



How to Download Pages from the Cloud

Preparation

Before downloading pages you will need to be in Edit Mode in Tiles. (See the Navigation Tutorial for details.)

Download Pages from an Account

  1. Tap accounts to load a list of available accounts. (If you are not a Care Team member only your own account will be listed.)

  2. Tap on the account that you'd like to download from.

  3. Tap empty check in the bottom right-hand corner of every page you'd like to download. The icon for the page will be highlighted in blue and the circle will be checked off, like this checked .

  4. Tap download .

  5. If you would like to download the account's Tiles Settings along with the page(s) make sure "Include Tile settings" is checked. checked2

  6. Tap download button to start the download.

  7. While the pages are being saved you will see a "Downloading Pages" dialogue that will show the download progress. When the progress reaches 100% your pages are successfully saved to your device.

Download Pages from a Library

  1. Tap libraries to view the public libraries.

  2. Tap on the library that you'd like to download from.

  3. Tap uncheck in the bottom right-hand corner of every page you'd like to download. The icon for the page will be highlighted in blue and the circle will be checked off, like this checked .

  5. If you would like to download the library's Tiles Settings along with the page(s) make sure "Include Tile settings" is checked. checked2
